Rev. Prof. Dr. Frimpong-Manso served as the Ashanti Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies since 2001 until he was elected the General Superintendent in August 2010.
He served for 23 years as the Head Pastor of the Gospel Centre Assemblies of God Church at Old Tafo in Kumasi and the Calvary Temple Assemblies of God in Bantama.
Rev. Dr. Paul Frimpong-Manso is currently the General Superintendent (Overseer) of the Assemblies of God in Ghana having been elected to the highest office of the church in 2010. Dr. Paul has over 30 years of experience in church and ecumenical governance as well as banking, having served as the vice chairman and chairman respectively of Atwima Kwawoma Rural Bank between 2000 and 2010. He currently serves as the board chairman for Nordea Capital and Nordea Income Growth Fund Company as well.
He has previously served as the board chair of Assemblies of God Relief and Development Service, Foreign Mission of Church, Mid-Bible College as well as an Executive Presbytery of the church’s campus ministry. Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso was also the Vice Chairman of the Ghana Pentecostal Council, and the Chairman of Ghana Evangelism Committee and currently serves as the National Executive Member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council.
Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wales, Master of Arts from Sheffield University, a degree from Cambridge University, as well as Diploma from Matterson, Hall, all in the UK. Has attended leadership and strategy courses, notable among them is the Institute for Advanced Leadership Training, Hawaii-USA.
